Brian J. Cook is Executive Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer.
Cook has held a variety of human resources and labor relations positions in both subsidiary and corporate units since 1981. His human resources responsibilities include compensation and benefits, labor and employee relations, leadership development and succession planning, recruiting and staffing, training and development, occupational safety, business continuity and workforce diversity.
In 2013, he assumed accountability for the corporate communications function, including corporate reputation, media relations, and executive communications and employee communications.
Cook received a bachelor’s degree in management and finance and an MBA from Virginia Tech. Cook graduated from DePaul University College of Law and is licensed to practice in Illinois.
Cook is active in community service, serving as president of the USG Foundation, which provides grants to organizations that enhance human services, education and community development. He serves on the Board of Directors of the National Safety Council, the leading safety advocate preventing unintentional injuries and death, and is a former board member and Chairman Emeritus of the American Red Cross of Greater Chicago. Cook is also an adjunct professor of human resources at Loyola University Chicago Quinlan School of Business.
